Interview with Joshuah Buckle!

When did you first decide you wanted to write?
A few years ago (when I was 21) I started writing an idea for a short film. That turned into an original drama series. I’ve been writing screenplays and books ever since.

Did you get nervous the first time you put your work out there?
Not really. I knew this was where my talent was and that my future was all about writing.

What is your favorite genre to write?
I like to write action/sci-fi screenplays.

Do you have a favorite author?
Not really. Funnily enough I’m not a huge reader of books even though I’m an author. When it comes to inspiration I have favorite directors and filmmakers and they are Jon Favreau & Joss Whedon. They may not be authors but they’re storytellers and that’s what we all do.

Is there something you want to write about, that you haven’t yet?
A mess with your mind story with a complicated time travel plot that makes sense at the end.

What is one silly fact about you?
Just one? Let me try to narrow it down…  Growing up I never did my school assignments and hated writing and now I write daily and love it.

Spaghetti or Lasagna and why?
Spaghetti… Because it’s spaghetti, do I need another reason? :)

Anything you would like to say to the aspiring authors reading this blog?
Never worry about what anyone else says. If you have family or friends who says you can’t be a writer ignore them completely. It’s your life and if you want something you go for it 110%. I have had so many people tell me it’s not possible and that I can’t be a writer and now I have published books and an amazing manager in New York and L.A. who handle my screenplays.
