For Day 3 Airicka Phoenix went into her character’s mind and asked him the tough questions.

Hello, Isaiah! Thank you for joining us.

Isaiah shifts in his chair, rubs his palms up and down the length of his thighs. “Thanks.”

Can I get you anything? Water?

He shakes his head. “I’m good. Thanks.”

Great! So I assume you know why you’re here?

His hand lifts, ruffles through his hair. He clears his throat. “Uh, kinda. I was chosen as… alpha male or something?” he clears his throat. “Are you sure you’ve got the right guy?”

You don’t think you’re an alpha male?

“Is that one of the questions?”

No. This is a freebie because I created you.

He scowls. “I think I’m just a guy trying to do the right thing.”

Well, our readers have sent in some questions for you. Will you answer them?

“Do I have a choice?”

“No, not really.”

He shrugs, waves a hand. “Ask.”

Question 1: You went through a lot with Fallon in Touching Smoke, but you never lost your patience with her. Do you—

“Not true,” the chair creaks as he leans forward. “Her refusal to drink drove me nuts. The girl’s too stubborn for her own good. ”

But you never forced her to drink.

His lips curl in a tight grin. “Trust me. It was coming to that!”

Does she finally give in, in Touching Fire?

He tips his head back, eyes me down the length of his nose. “I thought you created us. Shouldn’t you know the answer to that?”

Don’t get smart. Our readers don’t know.

“And they won’t until they read the book. What are you doing?”

Making notes to remove your sarcasm trait.

“You can’t do that! Quit smirking!”

Question 2: This is one from Chris who wants to know, what do you do on your free time?

“Male or female?”

What?

He gestures to the clipboard in my hand. “The person asking, is it male or female?”

What does it matter?

“Well, I have a different answer if it’s a dude! Don’t roll your eyes at me!”

“Well, you’re being childish! Oh, folding your arms and acting all superior, that’s going to help you!”

He arches an eyebrow.

“Fine! It may or may not be a girl.”

His smirk is triumphant. “In that case… I enjoy saving pretty girls.” His grin melts into a deep frown. “Did you just facepalm?”

I seriously don’t know why I agreed to this.

He jerks a shoulder in a shrug. “I asked the same question. Quit muttering under your breath.”

Question 3: This is from another reader who wants her identity kept privet. She wants to know, what size are your feet?

He blinks his blue eyes. “My… what?”

Your shoe size. What is it?

“Is that a serious question?”

Yes! I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t.

“I don’t get… is she going to buy me new shoes? I don’t think Fallon will like me accepting gifts from other girls. She’s kinda got a temper.”

Nevermind. Next question.

Question 4: Do you consider yourself hot?

He rolls a tongue over his straight, white teeth, his eyes dance with laughter. “You know I am.”

I don’t remember writing you with such a fat head…

“Yeah right! You knew exactly what you were doing.” He wiggles his eyebrows.

So you admit you’re a ladies man?

He winks. “Never out loud, least Fallon hears. But I can’t help it if the ladies like what they see. I just advise no touching. Again, Fallon… temper… not pretty!”

Question 5: Do you fear Fallon’s temper?

“Do you mean am I afraid she’ll beat me up?”

Could she?

“You wrote her, you tell me… what are you writing?”

Just making a few fun notes for Touching Fire.

“Dude, you suck.”

Question 6: What was your favorite moment of Touching Smoke?

“The cabin.”

What part?

Dark patches appear high up on his cheekbones. He scowls. “All of it.”

Not all of it can be your favorite! Which part of the cabin part was your favorite… part?

“You wrote me! You know which part!”

But the readers don’t! What was that? What did you say? Quit mumbling!

“Holding Fallon while she slept! Happy?”

Aww!

“Shut up!”

Question 7: What would you do to keep Fallon safe?

His hands fist on his thighs. “Anything! Everything!”

Why?

He steals a peek at the clipboard. “Is that one of the questions?”

No.

He looks away. “You sure are using those creator points today.”

Answer the question.

He throws his hands up into the air. “Because!”

Because…?

Warning signs flash behind his eyes when he turns them on me. “Because she’s mine, that’s why! Because she’s part of me. Because… because…” he looks down at his lap, at the white caps of his knuckles. “Because I’m nothing without her and I know if anything happens to her…” he scrubs a hand over his face. “I can’t even… I’ll die without her.”

Question 8: Do you love Fallon?

He raises his head, looks at me, raises an eyebrow. “If you don’t know the answer to that by now, you need to reread the book.”

And to the people who haven’t read the book yet?

“Read the book.”

That’s not very nice!

He raises his hands palm up. “What do you want me to say?”

I want you to answer the question.

He considers, rubs his jaw. “Would it make me less of an alpha male if I said she makes me weak and strong at the same time? Or that I can’t breathe without her?”

“That’s beautiful.”

He smirks. “Want a tissue?”

“Shut up.”

Question 9: What’s your biggest regret?

“Not being able to keep Fallon safe. Not being able to protect her when I swore I would.”

Question 10: What would you like to happen in Touching Fire?

A twisted glee fills his eyes. “Maybe see Garrison self-implode.”

“You know this is a four book series… right?”

He shrugs. “I would still like to see it.”

Question 11: We have another question from a reader, what is your ideal date?

He blinks. “As in of the month?”

“No, as in taking a girl out.”

He frowns. “I’ve never been on a date. Kind of hard to do when you’re guarding a weapon of mass destruction.”

“If you could, would you date?”

He shifts higher in his seat. “I would love to take Fallon on a date. I know she would like that as well, but it was always last priority over keeping her alive.”

Question 12: If everything turns out in book four (Touching Ash) what are your plans?

He lifts a brow. “You mean you’re actually going to let us live?”

“Maybe. I can be convinced.”

“You really love playing God, don’t you?”

“Yes, yes I do. Now, the question?”

He sighs, stares off somewhere into the distance. “I want to take Fallon away… somewhere. I don’t care where. Just us, no more running, no more hiding, just me and her. I want to spend the rest of our lives being together and free.”

Question 13: So I have it from a very reliable source that you’ll be having some competition in Touching Fire. What are your thoughts on that?

His eyes narrow. “What kind of competition?”

“The two legged kind with a very sexy Irish drawl.”

A muscle tightens in his jaw. “I’m not worried.” But his knuckles pop as he fists them around the armrests of the chair.

“No?”

“Don’t say ‘no’ in that arrogant tone. No! I’m not worried. I’m Fallon’s as much as she’s mine. She would never want anyone else.”

“And if she did?”

“I’ll kill you in your sleep.”

“Hey! You can’t talk to me like that! I made you! I can take you out!”

His teeth flash in a snarl. “Then you better take me out right now, because Fallon is my soulmate. She’s mine! You change that and I’ll make sure you never sleep again.”

“I’ll make a note of that.”

He sits back, his nostrils flaring. “Do that.”

Question 14: Are you afraid you won’t make it in Touching Ash (book #4)?

He’s quiet a moment, then replies, “Will Fallon?”

“I can’t say.”

He shifts, picks at an invisible piece of lint on his jeans. “I don’t care if I do or not, but… let her live.”

“Why?”

Pure hatred glints in the depths of his burning gaze. “Because you’ve already taken everything from her and I know you’ll take more… you owe her!”

“Even if it’s without you?”

“Yes.”

Question 15: If things weren’t the way they are, would you still pick Fallon?

“Every time.”

“Excellent.”

“Are we done?”

“Yup—hey! You don’t have to leave so fast!”

Already at the door, tosses over his shoulder, “Shouldn’t you be writing or something?”

“I’m seriously going to work on your attitude.”

“You do that,” reaches the door, turns the knob, pauses, “Oh, and while you’re working on stuff, eliminate that Irish bastard or I will…” he glances over his shoulder, his face a mask of possessive fury. “And it’ll be with great, twisted pleasure.”

Door closes behind him.
